Great news everyone, the construction in downtown Clearwater Beach is done! The businesses and restaurants are open. The people are friendly, and there is a lot of fun to be had by all.
Clearwater Beach is one of Florida’s most popular vacation destinations and is very popular with locals. It is also the only city in Pinellas County that has lifeguards on duty 365 days a year. The beaches’ location and close proximity to Tampa International Airport and to St. Petersburg-Clearwater airport, makes it easily accessible for weekends and vacationers alike.
Accommodations are plentiful since this is a resort and vacation center. You can choose the Hilton, the Holiday Inn, or one of many other resorts or hotels, or you can choose one of the delightful, locally owned establishments such as Barefoot Bay. The Watson Family has a gem with their very own Marina, great guest rooms and fantastic rates, just steps from the beach, the Pier, shops and dining. When checking out their site, make sure you scroll to the bottom for more info.
Activities are numerous at Clearwater Beach. Beach volleyball, parasailing, kayaking, walking the Beach Walk or just sun bathing. The city is also home to the largest fishing fleet in Florida. With over 300 species of fish in the Gulf of Mexico it is a sportsman’s paradise. Grouper, tarpon, shark and sailfish are just a few. For more info, make sure you check out All Catch Charters, one of many great charter opportunities available.
The friendliness of the people, the beauty of the area and the level of activity that is right for everyone in the family. This destination truly has it all. The kids have a wonderful play area and other beach type activities. The adults can enjoy the beach or find a nice shady spot under an umbrella to enjoy the gulf breezes. With a multitude of shops and dining, there is something for everyone and we will be covering Clearwater Beach in more detail in upcoming articles.
